School Mural

Project

Kelly Miller Middle School

Students spend majority of their time at school. ARK wanted to brighten up the hallways for the students at Kelly Miller. We partnered with artist Mr. Knight and his team who created the vision for the mural. Apart of the vision was to include the students in making their school an exciting place to learn. Student participated by adding their hand prints to the mural. Stop by Kelly Miller Middle School in Ward 7 to check out the beautiful mural.

School Uniforms & Supply Drive

Sponsored by QuickSilva & Silva Lining Foundation, The Chuck Brown Foundation and Tony Lewis.

Our First Annual School Uniform and Supply Drive was a HUGE success! After receiving and abundance of request regarding the need of uniforms from both public and charter across the nations capitol we were able to send over 100 homeless and low-income students to school ready to learn! Each student received a bookbag filled with grade approperiate school supplies and uniform pants and a shirt. On Friday August 22nd, a group of volunteers drove from school to school dropping off bookbags before supporting the grand opening of the Chuck Brown park dedication in NE, Washington, DC.

We were also able to donate extra items to the DC General Shelter.

SPECIAL THANK YOU to ALL our supporters and contributors! We were able to raise over $1,000 to purchase additional uniforms leading us to sending over 100 students to school prepared!

SPECIAL THANK YOU to: Chammps Americana, Pentagon Row, Oohh's & Aahh's, Ust WDC and Hooters, 7th St WDC for partnering with us as our drop-off locations!
